Teacher Academy

What is the program design?

Teacher Academy has been fundamental in providing professional growth for teacher 
leaders.  The Academy centers on student engagement, instructional strategies, and 
reflective practices that align with the Missouri State Teacher Standards. Teacher 
Academy is designed to provide participants with an intellectually stimulating
opportunity to learn new teaching strategies, to collaborate with other highly committed
teachers in our region and throughout the state, and to utilize the process of action 
research as professional learning leaders.

Participation requires release days for monthly regional meetings, a statewide kick off 
learning session, and a mid-year statewide regroup and training. Tuition, transportation, 
food and substitutes will be the responsibility of the school or individual.

Who qualifies?

  • A current classroom teacher with a minimum of three years experience
  • A teacher with demonstrated classroom effectiveness
  • A teacher with a commitment to sustained professional growth

How are academy participants selected?

Teachers are selected through an application process which requires a narrative response to a set of questions. 

What are the costs and deadlines?

The program fee is $500, due after acceptance.
Early Bird registration- before June 1, 2017 - $400

When does it start?

 

Sessions will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the following dates:
