As a member of this year-long Academy, your learning will be focused on the
improvement of leadership performance as articulated in Missouri’s Leader Standards and Quality Indicators. The Leadership Academy emphasizes the importance of building capacity of instructional practices correlated to high academic achievement for students.
Leadership Academy’s year-long experience develops effective leaders who:
• Demonstrate their roles as lead learners.
• Develop and cultivate positive, productive professional relationships.
• Develop skills to effectively develop teachers.
• Create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.
• Kickoff Meeting June 12-14, 2017
• YMCA Outdoor Leadership Experience October 4-7, 2017
• Winter Meeting January 10-12, 2018
• Graduation June 11-15, 2018
• Six regional meetings, held in Rolla, Dates TBA
WHO: All practicing or aspiring leaders and administrators in public, private, and parochial schools are eligible to attend.
WHY: State of Missouri statute requires mentoring for school leaders provided through an Academy that promotes support, growth and development and positively and significantly impacts student performance through effective school improvement practices. School improvement mandates and standards are continuously evolving and redefining the role of school leaders. Continuous support opportunities through mentoring are necessary in order to develop and hone skills for instructional leadership resulting in improved student learning.
WHERE: Regional Satellite Academy activities will be coordinated by facilitators through the Regional Professional Development Center in your area. The statewide meeting will be held in the Lake of the Ozarks area.
Total Registration cost is $900. The breakdown of fees is as follows:
Registration fee of $600 will be invoiced to your building by South Central RPDC for three of the four statewide meetings to cover meals and materials. The $600 fee not only covers 3 of the 4 statewide meetings, it also covers meals and materials for the 6 regional meetings!
Transportation and lodging are not included. Purchase Orders may be faxed to 573-341-6577.
You must register for both the kickoff meeting and the regional meetings.
Registration fee of $300 payable to YMCA of the the Ozarks for the fourth statewide meeting, Outdoor Leadership Experience. You will be directed to register separately for Outdoor Leadership Experience. Registration details will be posted by May 15, 2017.
